With the use of a U-turn path, there is no need to leave a space in front of the scanner for document delivery, resulting in a neat, slim body for space-saving operation. As well as allowing high-speed scanning of 25 ppm* in either color or back and white, the document feed can handle many different types of documents. A slim body that saves space
Once a document is fed in, it follows a U-turn path and is discharged at the front section of the main unit. This eliminates the need to leave space in front for document delivery and results in outstanding space-saving. Also, switching to straight ejection path makes it possible to scan cards and other thick documents.

Reliable document feeding
As documents are fed in, the upper sensor transmits ultrasonic waves that are received by the lower sensor. If multiple feeding should occur, document feeding is automatically halted and a double feed is indicated, so there is no risk of data loss during scanning.

Double Feed Release functions

Reliable feeding mechanism supported by solid technology
Reliable document feeding
Canon’s reliable page separation mechanism provides smooth feeding of a wide variety of document sizes and weights. The DR-M160ll also uses a new feed roller for even better paper feeding. Features such as Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection and Rapid Recovery further ensure dependability by making sure each and every page of a batch is scanned.
If a double feed is detected, the Retry and DFR functions allow scanning to resume.
If a double feed is detected at the feeder inlet, engaging the Retry Function automatically reverses the path of the document so that it can be fed again and rescanned. Also, if a document has something like a photo or a tag stuck to it, scanning can be resumed either by selecting the DFR (Double Feed Release) in the double feed confirmation dialogue on the screen, or by pressing the DFR button on the main unit to indicate that it is not a case of double feed.
* DFR is only available in Continuous Scanning mode and if Double Feed Detection is set up.

The scanner prevents skewed feeding when different size of documents are fed together, with the help of left and right feeding rollers that revolve independently.
Paper jam will be detected by two types of sensors which prevent your important documents from being damaged.
Paper feeding error detection sensors quickly detect skewed documents and paper jam. Paper eject sensor prevents from damaging documents by detecting unusual length of document transit time.Flexible double feed support
Scanning errors are prevented when feeding multiple documents, allowing for more speedy continuous scanning.
The scanner detects with ultrasonic detection when multiple overlapping documents pass through the scanner simultaneously, after which feeding stops automatically. Furthermore, the scanner has a “Separation Retry” function that automatically returns these documents to the feed tray.
It is also possible to disable double feed detection when scanning documents that consist of more than one layer, such as copy slips. When double feeding is detected, an error will be displayed on the LCD panel. Select “Save and continue” and then press “OK” button to continue scanning.Bundled Software

Reliable feeding performance
The DR-M1060 is the first in the DR-series to be equipped with paper speed and skew sensors adjacent to the rollers.
These sensors monitor the paper speed and skew angle as the document moves during scanning, enabling the unit to stop the document feeder immediately a problem is detected and to prevent damage to the document.User-friendly operating panel
The operating panel for basic operations, such as starting and stopping scans, is located on the front right of the scanner. The panel includes a DFR button to allow smooth recovery from feed stops that occur due to double feed. Up to nine jobs can be registered by connecting to the bundled CaptureOnTouch software.

The DR-G2140/G2110/G2090 scanners offer accelerated batch processing. They feature improved productivity of document conversions by shortening the time needed for scanning and processing, with the DR-G2140 capable of delivering 140 pages of high-speed scanning per minute*. In addition, the modified roller material has increased its durability from the one for previous scanner models.

The DR-G2140/G2110/G2090 scanners deliver smooth, jam-free feeding of documents in mixed batches and non-standard documents ranging in size from business card size to A3 (11×17 in.)*. Active Torque Control adjusts roller torque to accommodate otherwise difficult-to-feed paper types, such as especially thin or thick documents. Three separation modes are available to enable scanning of thin or coated paper types that were previously difficult to feed.

Shading mechanism
To ensure consistent image quality, the DR-G2140/G2110/G2090 performs an automatic calibration process called shading prior to each scan job. In an all-new mechanism that provides protection against dust, the image sensor shifts to calibrate itself against a special white shading surface that’s affixed directly on the sensor glass.
3-line CMOS image sensor technology
3-line CMOS sensor technology is responsible for unmatched image sharpness and tonal accuracy. Processed images are scanned quickly and have exceptional color reproduction, true to the original document and free of unwanted color staining.
High volume feeder
Each scanner is equipped with a motorized paper feed tray that adjusts height position relative to volume. The DR-G2140/G2110 have a maximum capacity of 500 sheets. (The DR-G2090 supports up to 300 sheets.)
Network scanning via wired LAN connection
Share a single scanner via a network to perform scanning tasks efficiently.
Select any connected computer from the scanner’s operation panel and perform scanning.
Scanning can also be executed from any computer sharing the scanner via the network.
You can save scanned data to specified storage locations, attach scanned data to emails for
sending, and perform various scanning operations according to the scan settings configured on each computer.

Equipped with new CIS and DR processor
High-speed scanning is achieved via the adoption of a new CIS with maximum speeds of up to 140 sheets / 280 faces per minute. The DR processor makes high-speed, high-quality image-processing possible.
Steple detection
Canon’s Staple Detection feature automatically halts the scanning process if an unremoved staple is found, as staples can cause scanning errors that compromise the document or damage the machine.
Intuitive control panel featuring Job Key
Start and stop scanning, check display messages, and make selections using the scanner’s control panel. The button configuration is ergonomically designed to make job execution an easy endeavor. For example, the Job Key allows the operator to select from up to 99 preregistered scan jobs. Jobs are assigned using the included Job Registration Tool.
Manual Feed mode
Manual Feed mode allows you the option of manually loading sheets of a document for processing.

Tough, durable construction
The robust DR-X10C features a solid body and durable roller system to handle the demands of production-level scanning. Its daily duty cycle is rated at 60,000 sheets per day. The motorized paper feed tray can be set to one of three height positions according to the volume of a typical batch, which helps minimize the wait time before scanning begins. Each position accommodates up to approximately 100, 300, and 500 sheets, respectively.

Superior Paper Handling and Reliability
The 500-sheet capacity DR-X10C features Canon’s renowned high-precision roller system and page separation mechanism for reliable batch scanning in a variety of automatic and manual feeding modes. Multiple functions and built-in sensors ensure efficient, reliable handling and capture, plus strong protection against double feeds.
3 ultrasonic double feed sensors, with “multi-zoning” capability
Three ultrasonic sensors provide protection against double feeds by detecting and preventing overlapping pages from being fed into the scanner at the same time. Each sensor can be set to ignore or detect specified areas of a document to accommodate pages with labels or attachments.
All-new Double Feed Retry mechanism
In the rare event that a double feed occurs, the Double Feed Retry function returns the document pages to the feeder inlet and retries scanning up to three times before pausing document transport, dramatically reducing the need for operator intervention.
Dedicated sensor for document size and angle detection
While conventional scanners rely on their image sensor to detect a document’s size and angle, the DR-X10C is equipped with a dedicated sensor for this purpose to provide exceptional Page Size Detection and Deskew accuracy and processing speed.
Staple detection sensors
Canon’s Staple Detection feature automatically halts the scanning process when an unremoved staple is detected. Left undetected, staples could cause errors that compromise the document, cause jams, or damage the device.
Intuitive control panel and Job key
Start and stop scanning, select preregistered scan jobs, check displayed messages, and make select scanner settings using the control panel on the machine. Job functionality enables the operator to select and execute up to 99 preregistered scan jobs directly from the DR-X10C control panel without having to use a scanning application.
